From an intimate wedding on Folly Beach, SC to a ceremony in the countryside of Lisbon, Portugal, EmilieCarol has photographed people at their happiest moments. EmilieCarol Photography just celebrated 10 years in business and has racked up an impressive list of accomplishments. In 2016 she was named by Expertise as one of the top 25 Wedding Photographers in North Carolina, and by Thumbtack as one of the 10 Best Photographers in Raleigh, North Carolina 2016. Her easy-going manner puts people at ease, and it’s the reason that she’s able to get the best out of her subjects who unabashedly love her portraiture.
Her commercial work spans several industries including bridal, real estate, hospitality, and special events. After being based in Greenville, SC for two years, she relocated to Raleigh, NC to expand the business and Marry the man of her dreams; her greatest accomplishment to date.
In 2015 she also launched her career in HR. She currently serves as the HR Director for a company here in Durham. In 2019 she earned her SPHR solidifying her commitment to both employees and the company. She has enjoyed the last several years learning how to weave her passions together. In April of 2020, she launched 921 in hopes to help people cope with the ever-changing world.
EmilieCarol has also appeared in a variety of publications including, PEOPLE Magazine, Black Southern Belle, Anderson Life, Upstate Business Journal, and The Greenville News. She prides herself on being able to shoot in locations as diverse as the USS Yorktown harbored in Charleston, SC to the historic Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA. Former clients include Redfin, Signature Property Group, Resident 360, Garnish Hair Studio, Keller Williams Real Estate, The Cliffs at Valley, Tablefields Restaurant, and the Commerce Club of Greenville, SC.
She is passionately concerned with giving back and has donated portrait sessions to various charities including The Justice Project, Triangle Youth Ballet, Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, SC, the South Carolina Heart Gallery, where she photographed kids in foster care who are up for adoption, and the Beach Ball Foundation that supports non-profit organizations focusing on children in Greenville and the Upstate.
She attended Western Carolina University in North Carolina, where she received a degree in social work. “I feel my background in social work makes me able to really empathize with people. I believe that if you take care of the people, the pictures will take care of themselves.”
